🚨 A call to businesses based in #kingston and or #surbiton 🚨 These are 200 prepared meals ready to go out to Voices of Hope today from @theantelopekt6 @voh_org are a local based charity who have a lot of experience running projects with the most vulnerable in Kingston upon Thames. They have been designated by Kingston Council and Kingston Voluntary Action the responsibility of running a coordinated central food distribution point for Kingston. This will be to supply food (healthy meals and provisions) for the most vulnerable in the community; the homeless, those on cripplingly low incomes, those isolated and vulnerable in the 12 week period. Due to the current need for vulnerable people to isolate there is a huge necessity to provide support in the form of prepared meals and food. In Kingston Borough alone, they have 30000 people (out of the 1.5million in the UK) who have been identified by the government to be the most vulnerable in this current crisis and they are being contacted this week by the government so that they know how to access and receive vital provision at this time. We are all working together to try and make this possible. Due to the scale of operation at hand, Voices of Hope are in urgent need of financial support to fund the meals and extra food aid packages. This is why we decided to help as much as we can! Today we sent out these 200 meals from The Antelope, and would love to know if any other local business would look to get involved with us. Next week we have agreed to send out 1000 meals, and the demand is only set to increase week-by-week. We want to ensure that every vulnerable person in the community can receive these so if you are a local business who wants to get involved in providing support, ingredients or food for the community, please email James@bigsmokebrew.co.uk Alternatively, if you wish to make a donation, please go to Voices of Hope’s Covid-19 appeals page: https://tinyurl.com/wk4egpf
